Senior citizens’ association “Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi” convened a “Kavya Sandhya”on 28th April, in Community Hall of Delhi Apartments, Sector-22, Dwarka (NewDelhi). The programme was presided by Dr. Ashok Lav, a legendary author of more than 100 books and recipient of about sixty awards and honours. The chief guest was renowned litterateur and international educationalist Dr. Harish Naval. “Kavya Sandhya” was organized and conducted by Hindi poet Prem Bihari Mishr of Dwarka, New Delhi. Mukesh Sinha,an eminent journalist and social worker, the efforts of Prem Bihari Mishra for providing a platform to unknown poets by organizing regular ‘kavya goshthees’ and occassional programmes of ‘kavya sandhya´and ‘ kavi sammelan’. Shri Sinha further said in his inaugural speech that this effort of Shri Mishra will go a long way in giving boost to talented children, the future of India. Shri Sinha also thanked “Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi “ and Dr. Ashok Lav for their support in this noble cause. The ‘Kavya Sandhya’ set off with ‘Saraswati Vanadana ’written and sung by Shri Prem Bihari Mishra.
Dr, Harish Naval, Dr. Ashok Lav, Sudha Sinha, Ashok Varma, Dr. Sneh Sudha Naval, Prem Bihari Mishra, Asha Shelly, Dr. Shabana Nazir, Col P.C Chowdhary, Ashok Sharma, Anil Upadhyay, Verinder Kumar Mansotra, Dr. Prabodh Kumar and Dhru Kumar Gupta read their poems in the kavya Sandhya. Audience became emotional when Dr. Ashok Lav presented his poems – ‘chalo sab bhul jaen, ‘maa aur kavita ’ and ‘prawasee putr-putrian’. Tears could be seen in many eyes after the poem ‘Prawasee putr-putrian ’. Ashok Verma and Dr. Shabana Nazir presented very melodious and heart touching ‘gazals ’. Each line of the poem of Prem Bihari Mishra ‘yah kaisi swar lahri aayee ‘ was admired by the audience with loud clapping. Shrimati Sudha Sinha recited a very talented and touching poem “bada bhola bada sada tere shar se marea gaon achchha hai” and “tere shahar ke bazar mere gaon ne sajae hain”. Melodious presentation of his poem by Anil Upadhyay “yadi mujhme itni aag na hoti, main kab ka bujh jata” was praised by everyone. Chief guest Dr. Harish Naval presented an impressive review of the poems presented by all the poets. Complete audience felt delighted when he narrated heart touching sentiments of affection and selfless sacrifice of parents followed by his poem ‘ek hote the babuj aur ek hua karti thi amma’.
Dr. Ashok Lav, who presided the programme, said in his concluding address that Shri Prem Bihari Mishr has given start to a praise worthy task and we are with him in his noble mission. President of ‘Sukh Dukh Ke Sathi ‘ Shri Vijay Shanker Singh said in the end that we will continue with such programmes and conveyed thanks to President of the programme, the Chief Guest, the poets and the audience as well as Shri Prem Bihari Mishr. The programme ended with an affectionate community feast.
